Write clearer than you think.
Talk the way thoughts arrive. Beam turns it into finished writing, on your Mac, in every app.
Your meetings, kept to the word.
The minutes write themselves while you just attend. Nothing joins the call.
Say the thought. Keep the page.
A rambling thought goes in. A clean page comes out. One key, anywhere.
Fourteen days of everything. No card, no account.
Optional. The link in your inbox, and a note when Beam changes. Nothing else.
It does not need to be perfect. It needs to exist.

so um, the onboarding idea, three screens, three max, no toggles anywhere, and the finish line gets the gold, yeah
THE IDEA · WRITTEN AS A NOTE
Onboarding in three screens, never more. No toggles anywhere. The finish line wears the gold.
Your words travel three inches,
from your microphone to your chip.
Turn the Wi-Fi off. It still works.
I. The gesture
Lightning fast, sooner said than done.

Hold
Press and hold the fn key from anywhere. Your editor, your terminal, a message box.

Talk normally. Words stream onto the screen as you say them, not after.

Let go of the key. Punctuated, readable text stays behind. Nothing else does.

II. The pill
One indicator. Six temperaments.
While you speak, Beam shows exactly one thing: a small pill at the edge of the screen. Pick its style, accent, size, and corner once, and every dictation after arrives dressed your way. These six are drawn from the app itself, number for number.
Dressed in your color and your style, not ours.

III. The meeting
Present in the room, not in the notes.
Press record and attend. Beam hears your microphone and this Mac’s own audio as two named voices, you and the room, and transcribes both right here. When you stop, it writes the page a good assistant would have: the summary, the decisions, the action items with owners, the numbers, the open questions.
Nothing joins the call. No bot in the participant list, no transcript on somebody else’s server, no company between you and your own meeting. The recording, the transcript, and the page are plain files on your Mac, and the room’s words never leave it.
IV. The note
A thought, caught clean.
Press the note chord anywhere and talk it out. Beam takes away the false starts and the ums and writes the clean page: a Thought when you are thinking, a Journal entry when you are living. The raw transcript stays behind it, word for word, in case the mess was the point.
V. Where your voice goes
Beam runs its speech model on your Mac's own GPU, through Metal, on Apple silicon. No cloud. No account. No audio uploads, ever. What Beam does send is short and published: a license check and an update check, neither carrying a word you said. Every call is listed on the trust page. Run a packet capture while you dictate and watch for yourself.
- Most tools
- your voice → their servers → text comes back
- Beam
- your voice → your GPU → text, on the spot
It works with the network cable cut.
VI. The negative space
What Beam does not do.
Most of what makes Beam safe is what it leaves out. There is nothing to opt out of, because the machinery to collect was never built.
The absence is the product.
VII. The alternatives
Most tools ship your voice out. Beam keeps it in.
The cloud ones upload your audio, make you create an account, and bill you every month. Beam does the work on your Mac. Three years of a $12 tool is $432. Beam's Founders three years is $129, and the price you join at is locked.

Next to the dictation already built into your Mac, Beam goes further: it learns the jargon you actually use, punctuates as you speak, and cleans up the filler so the text reads like you meant to write it.
Fourteen days of everything, free. Then two thousand words a week for good, or from $5.99 a month.
VIII. The learning loop
Teach it a word once. It stays taught.
Names, medicine, law, jargon. Correct Beam one time and it remembers, in a dictionary that lives on your Mac like everything else it knows about you. The correction never leaves either.
IX. Confidential by design
Built for work you cannot put in the cloud.
Some work is not for the cloud. If the words should not leave the room, the tool that captures them should not leave the machine. Beam does all of its listening and writing on your Mac and sends no audio anywhere, on any plan.
We cannot screenshot your screen, log your keystrokes, or read your audio.
None of it ever leaves your Mac. Not policy. Architecture.
X. The particulars
A small, fast, native thing.
Beam lives in the menu bar. A native Mac app, built for Apple silicon, small on disk and quick to wake. One capsule on your screen when you speak, and nothing at all when you do not.

$ The price
Pick a door. Your price never rises.
Fourteen days of everything, free, before any of this matters. Stay free at two thousand words a week for as long as you like, or take the ceiling off: every engine, no limits, two Macs on one license.
Buy wherever you are standing: right here, or inside Beam under Settings. Either way there is no code to copy and nothing to paste. Finish checkout and the license walks itself into the app; one click on the confirmation page, and Beam is yours.
Launch prices. They rise as Beam grows; yours never does. The day you join is the price you keep.

What happens if I stop paying?
Beam returns to the free tier and keeps working: two thousand words a week, on device, forever. Nothing you wrote is deleted and nothing is held hostage. If you come back later, the same key picks up where it left off.
Do you ever hear what I say?
No, and not as a policy that could quietly change. The recognition runs on your Mac, so there is no audio to send. What Beam does send is a license check and an update check, carrying a key and a device id and never a word you said. Every call is listed on the trust page.
What does the free tier include?
Fourteen days of everything, no card, no account. After that, two thousand words a week on the Instant engine, counted on your Mac and reset every Monday. The limit never cuts a sentence off. Plenty of people will never need more than that, and they are welcome to it.
Will the price go up?
The list price, yes, as Beam grows. Yours will not. Whatever you join at is what you renew at, for as long as you keep the plan. That is why Founders is called Founders.
What does the Founders plan include?
Three years of everything, every feature that ships during them, and two Macs, for $129 every three years. The price you join at is the price you keep. It is the smartest way in: $129 against $179.97 yearly or $215.64 monthly over the same three years.
